Platanos - Plantains in syrup
Plantains can be cooked many ways and are served with breakfast, as a vegetable and used for dessert as well. I like them this way as a treat and they are easy to make too.
- 2 cups of water
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick broken in half
- 4 ripe plantains with black skins, peeled and cut into 1/2 inch diagonal slices ( I also sometimes just cut them in half length wise )
- 1/4 cup corn oil
