Our missions
We currently support six programs in Guatemala. Due to the recent closure of adoptions from Guatemala, the need for donations have grown tremendeously. We at GAF are looking to expand our program in 2009 to help more children as we see the number of children in orphanages increase.
The money collected by the GAF is used to purchase health care item such as over-the-counter medicines, and health care products like toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, soap and baby products. The GAF has also provided bedding for the hospital as well as surgical linens and specialty medical equipment as requested. All the donations are shipped via private courier or personally delivered and a receipt is received. We also visit the hospital and orphanages we support.
Involve your kids in the giving
If you would like your child to join in the giving, a suggestion would be for them to bring a tube of toothpaste or toothbrush on their own and we will make sure that the kids in Guatemala receive their donation.
We are also happy to provide a slideshow to show at school, or send letters to the children in Guatemala on your children's behalf.
